GULLAH STEWED
SHRIMP AND OKRA

INGREDIENTS:

1.5lbs. okra
-
1lb. large shrimp
-
Olive oil
-
3 tsp garlic, minced
-
1 chili pepper, diced
-
1 tsp ginger, minced
-
1/2 cup onion, diced
-
1 tbsp salt
-
1 tbsp pepper
-
1 tbsp parsley
-
1 tbsp thyme
-
1 cup canned tomatoes
Note: Try this recipe with 1 tbsp Jody’s Asian Persuasion, and 1 tsp Durty Gurl Bloody Mary Rub replacing the ginger.
INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat recteq® to full.

In a large pot, add olive oil and place onto grill.

Add okra and onions, and cook until onions become translucent.

Add shrimp, garlic, chili pepper, ginger, salt, and pepper, then sauté for 10 minutes.

Add tomatoes, parsley, and thyme, then cook for about 30 minutes, checking halfway.
